Christmas Pretzel Wreath - Chocolate Covered Pretzels

These adorable white chocolate covered pretzels wreaths are easy and fun to make and make the perfect gifts for holiday gathers or your loved ones.
Prep Time 20 minutes
Servings: 10 pretzel wreaths (approx)
Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of gluten free pretzels
  • 1 12 oz bag of white chocolate chips
  • 2 TBS coconut oil
  • Dye-free sprinkles
  • Dye-free green food coloring

Method

  1. Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the white chocolate and coconut oil. Be sure to stir frequently to avoid scorching the chocolate. I remove my white chocolate from the heat source when it is almost melted to be sure that it does not get scorched.
  2. Add desired amount of green food coloring and stir to combine. Add extra oil, keep stirring and reheat, if needed to maintain desired consistency as chocolate may "seize" up when the food coloring is added.
  3. Dip the top half of each pretzel in the green, white chocolate mixture. Arrange on parchment covered baking sheet in the shape of a circle. Repeat until the first layer is complete. Repeat for the second/top layer. Note: I found that it worked best to put 5 pretzels in a circular shape on both the top and bottom layers. However, this may vary based on the actual pretzels you purchase or the size of the wreath you would like to make.
  4. While the white chocolate is still in it's melted state, add the sprinkles for the "ornaments" on your wreath.
  5. Carefully transfer your wreaths to the refrigerator or freezer to set the chocolate.

Notes

If you are making the wreaths as the size shown in the video, each wreath uses 10 pretzels.  I found that approximately 10 wreaths can be made with 1 (12) oz bag of white chocolate.
Equipment:
  • Parchment paper or wax paper
  • Baking sheet or cookie trays or sheet pan
  • Heat proof bowl
