Homemade Macadamia Nut Butter

How to make any homemade macadamia nut butter with a variety of add-ins to make this an extra indulgent but healthy treat.
Prep Time 3 minutes
Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Nut Butter:
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts
  • Small food processor
Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup carob chips or chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free or grain-free cookies or graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup marshmallows

Method

  1. Blending: Place the macadamia nuts in a small food processor.
  2. Process: Start processing the nuts on high speed. Initially, the mixture will resemble coarse crumbs, but be patient; the magic is about to happen.
  3. Scrape Down the Sides: Periodically stop the processor to scrape down the sides with a spatula. This ensures an even consistency and helps the nuts release their natural oils.
  4. Continue Processing: Keep processing until your macadamia nut butter reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. This can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your food processor.
  5. Optional add ins: If you're opting for honey and cinnamon, add them now for a delightful twist and give your food processor one final pulse.
  6. For all other add-ins: Gently fold in your carob or chocolate chips, marshmallows, or gluten-free or grain-free cookies or graham crackers.

Notes

Store your nut butter in a glass container in the refrigerator.
