You can get as creative as you like with the optional add-ins. Some of my favorite add-ins are honey, cinnamon and carob or chocolate chips. But you could really let your imagination run wild by mixing in crushed gluten free cookies, marshmallows, graham crackers and the list goes on. By making your own nut butter, you will save money and fully control the ingredients list.
Indulging in homemade macadamia nut butter is a delicious, creamy delight that has become a regular afternoon snack favorite. Made with just macadamia nuts in a food processor, it is an irresistible blend of sweet and salty flavors, perfect for satisfying those afternoon cravings before dinner.
I fell in love with macadamia not butter when I was doing my first candida cleanse. Macadamia nuts are one of just a few nuts allowed on the cleanse. In my journey to transform these crunchy nuts into some more savory, this flavorful obsession was born. Macadamia nut butter has become a staple in my snack routine, not just because they’re a healthy choice, but because they’re incredibly delicious.
I personally enjoy this afternoon indulgence by sprinkling a few carob chips on top while sipping on sparkling water. I also like pairing this nut butter on fresh strawberries cut in half or by adding a touch of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra warmth and sweetness.

Homemade Macadamia Nut Butter
Ingredients
Nut Butter:
- 1 cup macadamia nuts
- Small food processor
Optional Add-Ins:
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup carob chips or chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup gluten-free or grain-free cookies or graham crackers
- 1/2 cup marshmallows
Instructions
- Blending: Place the macadamia nuts in a small food processor.
- Process: Start processing the nuts on high speed. Initially, the mixture will resemble coarse crumbs, but be patient; the magic is about to happen.
- Scrape Down the Sides: Periodically stop the processor to scrape down the sides with a spatula. This ensures an even consistency and helps the nuts release their natural oils.
- Continue Processing: Keep processing until your macadamia nut butter reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. This can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your food processor.
- Optional add ins: If you’re opting for honey and cinnamon, add them now for a delightful twist and give your food processor one final pulse.
- For all other add-ins: Gently fold in your carob or chocolate chips, marshmallows, or gluten-free or grain-free cookies or graham crackers.
