Chocolate Dipped Paleo Churro Chips

In my opinion, the best desserts are delicious, easy, and healthy.  When they check all of those boxes, it’s a win!  My family loved these and I am so excited to share this recipe with you!

These chocolate-covered churro chips are gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo (depending on the selected toppings and type of chocolate chips used), and the recipe is below!

Simple Ingredients

  • Paleo Churro Chips – I used Siete cinnamon churros to keep this recipe paleo. Their chips are made with clean ingredients like cassava, coconut oil and coconut sugar.
  • Chocolate Chips – You can use Hu chocolate chips to make this recipe paleo. Enjoy Life makes my favorite gluten free and dairy free chocolate chips.
  • Avocado Oil – If your chocolate seizes up, just add a tablespoon or two of avocado oil to the melted chocolate to get the smooth and creamy texture you desire. Be careful not to add too much oil, as this can make it difficult for the chocolate to set. Coconut oil also works.

Topping Ideas

  • Crushed Pistachios – This paleo option is so delicious! The salty nuts contrast beautifully with the sweet chocolate and churro chip. Any of your favorite nuts would work well in this recipe.
  • Crushed Chocolate Covered Candies – To keep this recipe dye-free, I used the chocolate covered candies from Trader Joe’s. Note: These contain some dairy.
  • Sprinkles – To keep this recipe dye-free, I used dye-free sprinkles from Whole Foods. Note: These are not paleo.
  • Diced Strawberries – I love fresh fruit and chocolate. This would be such a delicious flavor combo. Just be sure to serve shortly after the chocolate sets. The chocolate will cause the diced strawberries to macerate (emit juices). The chips will get soggy if too much time elapses before serving.
