This simple fruit salad recipe combines the freshest ingredients from your local grocery store or farmer’s market, creating a healthy salad that’s sure to be a huge hit at your next summer potluck, baby shower, or Mother’s Day brunch. The bright honey mint dressing adds a delightful tangy flavor that enhances the natural sweetness of the fruit, making this the best fruit salad you’ll ever taste. This salad is easy to prepare and bursting with nutritional benefits. This fresh fruit salad is a great addition to any meal or a refreshing snack on a warm day.
Two-for-One Salad
My absolute favorite tip for this summer salad is to make two salads with the same amount of effort. So often at summer gatherings or barbecues, there is a need to have a salad for the adults and some fruit for the kids. If that’s the case with your next summer barbecue, an easy way to bring two salads is simply by doubling the amount of fruit below. Prepare the salad as directed for the adults, and then for the kids use only the fruit and make that fruit salad in a separate bowl. The adults can enjoy a true salad on their plate and the kids will love this easy fruit-only salad.
You can use this same method if you are wanting to provide a healthy dessert option. Set the actual salad out with the main portion of the meal, and then set out the delicious fruit salad when it’s time for dessert. So many people like to have some fresh fruit as their dessert or add to warm cobbler to brighten it up.
Customize
You can always customize this recipe based on your preferences or what’s available at your local grocery store. Feel free to experiment with different combinations of summer produce to create your own unique and flavorful fruit salad. The next time you’re looking for an easy, healthy, and refreshing dish, give this rainbow fruit salad recipe a try – it’s sure to become a new favorite! Here are a few of my favorite substitutions to the simple ingredients listed in the recipe below: red grapes or seedless grapes, fresh pineapple, kiwi, pitted cherries, blackberries, and raspberries. The salad will look the most beautiful based on the variety of colors that are used, so aim to use as many colors of the rainbow as you can! Just be sure that you are using fresh ripe fruit for the best-tasting salad.
